Gin Rummy is a highly popular game with rules that are just very easy to learn especially for beginners. The rules simply evolve in a matter of draw and discard and this does not revolve on some complications that are usually associated with displaying melds and laying off of the cards in between turns. The online and offline Gin Rummy rules are still the same. In Gin Rummy there are up to four players who can play the game and with the usual two player game there are 52 cards that are used with no wild cards but each player will have still to take turns in dealing with the card.

The dealer will be deal a total of ten cards where the next card on the deck is turned up while the rest of the deck then is positioned faced down. The main purpose of the game is to be able to complete a hand that will compose of the runs. There are only two elements in the Gin Rummy rules. These are the Drawing and the Discarding.

In Drawing the first player can take one card from the discard pile and add this to the 10 cards that are already in the players’ hand. The discard file is the faced up for the opponents to know what card did the player take but if the player has chosen to take a card from the stock then the opponents will not be able to see what card was taken. In Discarding the player will take out the card from his collection and place this one in the discard pile facing up.

As soon as a player has already formed the cards into meld the game will now end. A player may knock only of ever he has already accumulated ten points or less of the deadwood. Knocking is a gesture in Gin Rummy that signifies that a player has already won the game. The unique part of the Gin Rum is that the only time the players will reveal their hands is when the game already ends. This is then the only time that they will be able to lay off the cards that they have.
